The Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL were one of the best devices launched last year, for under $400 we got almost the same device like the Google Pixel 3 which is great. Now that is 2020 everyone is looking for the Google Pixel 4a.
The Pixel 4a should replicate what the 3a series did. Slash out the expensive hardware aspects of the Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL while retaining the super-fast Android updates, rear camera experience, and Pixel-exclusive software features.
Name and release date
The Google Pixel has the same naming convention since its inception. So with that in mind, there is little doubt as to the name of the upcoming mid-range entry in the series. Unfortunately, some sources have confirmed that there will be no Pixel 4a XL this year. This might be disappointing for some fans of the previous Pixel 3a XL.
The name might be changed, but when will exactly Google Pixel 4a released. Pixel 3a series was originally launched at Google I/O 2019, so it seems reasonable to assume that launch will be at the same time. Unfortunately, Google I/O 2020 was canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak. However, we expect Google to go ahead with an online-only launch of the new phone or around the same time anyway, but that didn’t happen.
Eventually, some evidence popped up that suggested Google moved the general sale date to June 5, 2020. This led us to believe the Pixel 4a would land at the confirmed Android 11 event on June 3. Of course, that didn’t happen, either.
Now the latest leak via Jon Prosser tips the release date for the Pixel 4a as August 3. This would be just two days before Samsung’s Unpacked event for the Galaxy Note 20.
Google Pixel 4a price
According to some leaks, the Pixel 4a will start for as low as $349. This will be $50 cheaper than the Pixel 3a and $50 less than the new iPhone SE. The same leak says that we should expect 128 GB of storage to start, which will be double the 64 GB Pixel 3a and iPhone SE offered. There is even more proof that the Pixel 4a could cost $349, some Reddit user shared a pricing survey Google reportedly sent out, which mentions a Pixel phone made of plastic that seemingly refers to the new Google Pixel 4a. That phone is listed as $349 in the survey.
Like the previous Pixel 3a, the Google Pixel 4a is expected to have a full plastic body. Jon Prosser reports that the new Pixel 4a will come in two colors: Just Black and Barely Blue. However, the blue model has apparently disappeared from leakers’ listings, which calls into question when it will be released.
There are some leaked photos that surfaced on Twitter via TechDroider, that highlight how Google has evolved old Pixel 3a’s design into its next mid-range phone. The biggest design discrepancies with new Pixel 4a appear to be the hole-punch camera and the square rear camera module, which strangely has only one lens.
Google Pixel 4a Specifications
According to some rumors, Google Pixel 4a should come with a 5.8-inch OLED display having screen resolution 2340×1080 pixels. It will have a great viewing experience where the pixel density of 444 PPI adds crispness and clarity. The display will come with a bezel-less design, and it is most likely that it will have a 90HZ refresh rate.
Google’s previous two phones, the Pixel 3a and the Pixel 4 had one and two cameras. However, it looks like the 4a will take after 3a, using only a single main sensor, probably 12.2MP.
Google Pixel 4a should be provided with Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 chipset. Which will offer great performance for gaming and other usages. It will have Adreno 618 GPU, which is great for the graphical effects while 4GB RAM will handle both gaming and multitasking easily. It will come with 64GB/128GB of storage, and it won’t be expandable through SD.
It will come with 3080mAh, which will provide 1+ days of usage. They also include an 18W fast charging, so the battery should recharge from 0%-100% in around an hour.
